See this machineIf you are staying on tarmac — the Ourika valley, the Essaouira road, the Tizi n’Tichka pass — a T-MAX Techmax does the job better than a motorbike: automatic gearbox, upright riding position, and nothing to manage in the traffic on Avenue Mohammed V.
The moment gravel appears, you need suspension travel. We run four Ténéré 700s: two with Akrapovic exhausts, one of them a twin-tank World Raid, plus a 2025 in blue and a 2026 in Frozen paint. They are the benchmark for the Atlas and Agafay tracks. The four BMW GS — a 1250 Adventure, a 1300 Trophy and two 1300 Adventures, all fully loaded with Akrapovic exhausts — add comfort and panniers for the long stages.
Between the two, the Honda X-ADV 750 is the compromise we recommend most often, and we have three of them. DCT automatic gearbox, adventure-bike ground clearance: it handles the easier tracks without demanding any off-road experience.
The Ténérés, the BMW GS, the T-MAX and the X-ADV all require a motorbike licence. We check the original licence at delivery — no photocopies, no photos on a phone. If you are unsure which category yours is, message us before booking and we will tell you what you can take.
Self-guided rentals run from twenty-four hours upwards. For anything shorter, look at our guided rides instead: they fit inside the day, with a guide who knows the road.
A helmet supplied free, delivery and collection within Marrakech, a machine serviced before every rental, and phone support for the whole time you have it. In the shop we also sell Quad Lock phone mounts, with the vibration damper that protects your camera from the engine, and we rent Arai helmets at €10 a day.
The prices shown are starting rates: a motorbike starts at €100 a day, a BMW GS at €160. The exact figure depends on the season, the duration and how you plan to ride. Over a week in a quiet month, a 2023 Ténéré or a 2023 X-ADV can come down to around €85 to €90 a day.
The Ourika valley is the classic day out: 135 km round trip, sealed road the whole way, and ten degrees cooler by the time you reach Setti-Fatma. For two days or more, the Tizi n’Tichka pass towards Aït Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate is still the finest road out of the city.
The Agafay desert, forty minutes away, gives you a taste of gravel without leaving the region — we run an excursion base there too, with quads and a buggy. Tell us your route when you book: that is what lets us reach you quickly if something goes wrong.
